The reconstruction project of the Mezaparks Grand Open-Air Stage provided for adjustment of the viewers’ area and the open-air stage for the main event of the centennial of Latvia – the XXVI Latvian Song and XVI Dance Celebration taking place in July 2018.

The previous area of the open-air stage was 91,997m2, increased during the reconstruction by 50,000 m2, thus reaching 146,430 m2.

Area for viewers after the reconstruction was 22,197 m2 with the seats for 30,557 viewers instead of the previous 23,000 seats. A pergola with two-level premises for the visitors’ WC, shopping places, trauma and info centres was built under the new viewers’ area. Lighting of the open-air stage is provided by four new towers with built-in television and radio connection wells.

JSC A.C.B. carried out a construction of the circumferential and access roads of the open-air stage with asphalt concrete and mineral material covering, set-up pedestrian walkways with the fixed and non-fixed chips covering, construction of the viewers’ area walkways and the area between the stage and the viewers’ area, as well as installed covering under the pergola on the level of the 1st floor with the total paving stone covering of almost 20 thousand m2.
