The event “Visiting a Smiltene Municipality Entrepreneur” has taken place.

Continuing the business dialogue event series “Meet a Smiltene Municipality Entrepreneur”, on May 26 this year local entrepreneurs and municipal representatives gathered at the road and bridge construction company ACBR.

Participants were welcomed at the company and introduced to its daily operations by Pēteris Lejnieks, Chairman of the Board of the A.C.B. Group, Chairman of the Board of ACBR Kaspars Kalniņš, Head of the Bridge Department Sandis Junkers, and Head of the Vidzeme Projects Department Aldis Šaicāns, who introduced attendees to the company’s daily operations. Guests visited the mechanization workshops of the Smiltene division and the company’s premises, where the logistics of construction materials and equipment are managed on a daily basis.

During the discussion between entrepreneurs and municipal representatives, several highly relevant and practical topics were addressed, including road construction warranties and quality standards, rising fuel and resource costs, as well as workforce attraction and internship opportunities. The company has established close and successful cooperation with Smiltene Technical School; however, the management emphasized that attracting and retaining new qualified specialists in the industry remains a major challenge.

This meeting provided a valuable opportunity not only to hear the perspectives of local entrepreneurs, but also to see firsthand how the company operates in practice and the challenges it faces on a daily basis.
