Optical network construction

The A.C.B. Group, in developing new business profiles, has successfully commenced the design and construction of an optical network. It has configured an optical network design and project construction group, as well as acquiring specialised assembly and cable laying equipment. With these resources, it is possible to implement projects within the framework of European funds, as well as private orders.

Under the auspices of the projects, optical network infrastructure design and construction works financed with co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund include the establishment of trunk lines, as well as the construction of access points and inter-connection cables.

Infrastructure is being established with the objective of connecting the relevant administrative territory, where trunk network infrastructure is available with an optical cable network provider.

Projects have been implemented involving the connection of newly built and existing villages and multi-apartment buildings with optical cables to ensure high quality and fast digital data transmission.

Next Generation Electronic Communication Network Development in Rural Areas (Latgale Region)

  • Project developed based on an order from VAS Latvijas Valsts radio un televīzijas centrs and AS A.C.B. participated in the development of the project in collaboration with SIA Belam-Rīga. The fulfilment of the order involved the development and construction of an optic cable network technical project in two stages: Rēzekne–Silmala (48.1 km) and Rēzekne–Rogovka (22.7 km);
  • Under the auspices of the technical project, the positioning of the grid was developed, taking into account the requirements of the Client, as well as all communication holder institutions and land managers involved. Since architectural monuments of cultural and local significance were located in the stage under design, a non-trench cable laying method was also utilised;
  • In conformity with the technical project developed by the company, an optic cable network was constructed, utilising both trench and non-trench cable laying methods. The total length of the cable network built was 70.8km. During the construction process, the client’s exacting requirements in regard to fibre optic cable bandwidth were met, ensuring a reduction in malfunctions during the optic network’s service life.

Optic Trunk Cable Design and Construction (Kurzeme Region–Ventspils, Kuldīga District, Durbe District, Liepāja)

  • This project in Kurzeme Region is notable, because optic trunk cable infrastructure was designed and constructed under the auspices of this project in collaboration with SIA Belam–Rīga based on an order from VAS Latvijas Valsts radio un televīzijas centrs;
  • A technical project was developed, providing for the positioning of an optic cable grid in VAS Latvijas Valsts ceļi highway section lanes and municipal territories, as well as the construction of access points for local networks. Special solutions were developed for residential areas and specially protected nature reserves, as well as the Liepāja bridge over the city canal, taking the specific operating requirements of the bridge maintenance services into account;
  • The technical project’s solutions provide for the use of optic cable whose technical properties exceed the client’s requirements and ensure the provision of high signal transmission quality.
